The Dandie Dinmont Terrier

The Dandie Dinmont Terrier is a small breed of dog that belongs to the terrier family and originates from Scotland. The breed has relatively short legs and a long body - giving it a similar body structure to a Dachshund. The Dandie Dinmont Terrier was originally developed to hunt otters and badgers along the board of Scotland and England during the early 1600s. The breed was relatively unknown until the Dandie Dinmont Terrier Club (DDTC) was formed in 1875 and a breed standard was created. The breed became internationally recognized in 1888 when the Dandie Dinmont Terrier was registered with the American Kennel Club.
