The Kooikerhondje

The Kooikerhondje is a small bred of Spaniel-type dog that originates from the Netherlands. The breed is also commonly known as the 'Kooiker, ' and by its literal English translation, the 'Little Cager Hound.' The breed was officially recognized by the Dutch Kennel Club in 1971, and has since been imported to many other countries including Canada and the United States of America. The Kooikerhondje has a bright orange and white coat with a heavily plumed white tail, which the breed wags to entice ducks to follow it into the caged canals.
