That's That
Colin Broderick
Colin Broderick was born in 1968 and spent hischildhood in Northern Ireland. It was the start of the period of heightenedtension and violence known as the Troubles, and Colins Catholic family livedin the heart of rebel country. We watch as he and his brothers play ball withthe neighbor children over a fence but are never allowed to play together. Wesee him struggle to understand why young men from his community often disappear. We feel his confusion when he is held at gunpoint at various militarycheckpoints. Desperate to protect her children from the harm around them, Colinsmother merely says in explanation, Thats thatthe refrain of Colinschildhood.
