Veteran UK producer/DJ Paul Mac's debut release for ART shows his remarkable versatility and meticulous production skills. Odd Things Amount To Nothing is very much a modern techno wall-shaker. It's incessant drones and wails ride upon a wave of relentless beats. The track pauses to catch it's breath after a tremendous build before once again going clattering down the rails. The flipside is the track that original caught label-owner and A&R Kirk Degiorgio's ear - a modern take on the classic Chicago/Detroit hybrid sound of the late-eighties, brought up-to-date with a crisp sound
