Roots & Romance

Mell & Vintage Future releases their new album 'Roots & Romance' on Friday, June 12th. It is a collection of covers they played at their live shows and in the Dutch television program 'Linda's Winter Maand'. At the request of their fans, they made the recording of these covers their COVID project. After the success with the first cover singles 'Perfect Day' and 'Only A Fool (Breaks Her Own Heart)', they will now release their full album on Record Store Day.

The band consists of Melanie Jonk (known from The Voice Of Holland), Ton Dijkman (Marco Borsato, Candy Dulfer, a.o.) and Nico Brandsen (Ilse de Lange, Anouk, Kane, a.o.). When their agenda was suddenly cleared by COVID-19, the band decided to respond to the request of their fans. While writing for their upcoming album, they went to the Exalto Studio to record the cover album in just one day. Each song on the album has special meaning for at least one of the band members. In a small setting they managed to record eleven songs "live to track''.

Mell & Vintage Future released their successful debut album with hit singles 'Forever', 'Willin' and 'Call My Name', resulting in over 15 million streams on Spotify and several Radio 2 TopSongs. The band also made it to the finale of the TV program We Want More.
