Comin' Home Baby!

**Mel Tormé**, nicknamed *The Velvet Fog*, was an American musician best known as a singer of jazz standards. Paced by his only hit of the rock era, *Comin' Home Baby!* is a real crossover record balancing a few groovy dance numbers (like the title track) with early-60s cool jazz versions of the standards *"Walkin' "*, *"Moanin' "*, and *"On Green Dolphin Street."*

**Mel Tormé** was also a jazz composer and arranger, drummer, an actor in radio, film, and television, and the author of five books. His appearance in the 1947 film musical *Good News* made him a teen idol.
