For immediate release From the desk of Michael Pino, Editor; Rock Star Magazine August 2005 Get Wrecked! New CD from Richard Hydell and Wrecked Brings Rock Back to 2005 It could be the best rock CD in 20 years New York, NY, August 2005 - Get ready to get rocked with Wrecked and 'From my Mind to Yours' Wrecked's new demo returns the sound of the great rock bands to front and center stage. From explosive guitar solos - think Jimi Hendrix meets Metallica-to simple melodies of desperate love meets Dave Matthews, Wrecked vibrates with a drama and intensity riveting on every level, offering a musical experience that grabs the listener and won't let go. Acoustic guitars and a lonely synthesizer accompany the plaintive vocal that begins 'Sunshine' a lament to lost love that every listener will recognize. Mourning an affair that cost him a deep felt relationship, the singer confesses in this hopeless situation 'The sun shines, there's no reason to tell you that / I just can't stand the weight anymore' But in 'Tell Me', the singer reveals 'It's just a story I might believe in / I just want to believe in something' When the anguish gets the best of him, Hydell goes into a screaming, raging guitar break that will have listeners recalling the sound of West Coast acid rock and the fore-runners of grunge. The opening track 'Heroin' kicks off with a funky hip-hop sound. But the catch is that the subject is an old friend: the horse (heroin) and his wasted friends. Snarling vocals and a nasty wah-wah will have listeners recalling early Pearl Jam and Cold Turkey era John Lennon. 'Heroin's a killer' the singer says, and so is the song. 'Half a Mile from Waylon' The third track on this CD turns traditional country with a homage to the great country and rock legends. With a fiddle solo by the extraordinary Alix Pearson considered to be the finest bluegrass fiddle player in the south today. Think Achy Breaky Heart, Red Neck Woman, it is a great foot stompin bar tune. 'Another World Jam' is just what it says, 9 minutes and 23 seconds of some of the hardest rock you will ever hear. From the screaming vocals and controversial lyrics to a mesmerizing base solo. Then in comes a driving drum solo that takes you into one of the most searing guitar breaks to date. (Put on the headphones, you're gonna like this one) 'From my mind to yours' Not a rock opera, not an anthem or a kick ass hard rock tune. Believe it or not, it's all of them rolled into one. Not since Queen do we get such a variety of cool music that should be played in every stadium. The final track is a warm melody 'In the Moment' is a simple tune supported with a sweet flute solo and sparking acoustic guitar. 'In the Moment' shines with easy grace, as the singer has finally found his true love like the back of the CD says: 'Play it softly'
