Opland

Rikke originally comes from Blans - in the southern part of Jutland Denmark. She has since 2019 been touring and building a true hardcore audience with her Unique style of music. She self-released her debut EP “Omve’n Hjemve” in 2019 – with her almost folkish songs – sung in the native tongue of southern Jutland. It’s a language of which only few people speak and therefore it quickly came to overwhelm both music fans and media in Denmark. For her EP, Rikke was assigned “Modersmål Prisen” (Native Language Price” as the youngest in history and nominated “Best New Artist” at GAFFA Awards in Denmark. Now she recorded her debut album set to be released in October 2021 and the first single “Ballade” blasts through the barrier with a new sound in Rikke’s songwriting universe. Rikke Thomsen is a great guitarplayer and in “Ballade” you hear both her guitar wizardry and her capability as a composer of catchy pop tunes with roots in the 1980’s.
