Bette Davis stars in this classic 1950s crime thriller directed by Irving Rapper. Janet Frobisher (Davis) resides alone in the English countryside after separating from her criminal husband. As she carries out an illicit affair with her secretary's fiancé (Anthony Steel), her new life looks set to abruptly end in disaster when her estranged husband shows up and threatens to reveal her many secrets, including the affair.
