The Planters Wife

British drama starring Jack Hawkins as Jim Frazer, a rubber plantation owner who struggles to keep his marriage alive while the ongoing Malayan Emergency inflicts a fear of personal safety. With his marriage almost in ruins, Jim and his wife Liz (Claudette Colbert) are on the brink of parting ways. Unbeknown to Jim, Liz plans to take their son Mike (Peter Asher) on a one-way trip to England, but with ongoing attacks from communist terrorists on neighbouring plantations and a close-call with an intruder who almost kills her, Liz decides to stand by Jim and help him defend the plantation.
