The Great Pretender - Case 3 & 4

Episodes 11-23 of the Japanese anime which follows a man who turns to a life of crime when he cannot find work after his release from jail, despite being innocent of the crime for which he was imprisoned. When con man Makoto Edamura (voice of Chiaki Kobayashi) tries to con a French tourist in Tokyo, it soon becomes apparent that he was in fact the one tricked, for the tourist is actually fellow con man Laurent Thierry (Junichi Suwabe), who has plans for Makoto.
