Out of the recession of the 1970s came a new form of music from Great Britain. It was called punk rock and was deemed too offensive for American radio airplay. In order to generate publicity which would, hopefully, generate record and concert ticket sales, a new punk band from England was booked a tour through the American south, the last place they would be welcomed. For what was considered a suicidal task of protecting this band of belligerent, obnoxious young punk rockers from the redneck and often violent citizens of the deep south, a very special person was hired as the band's personal bodyguard. Dwayne Earl 'Shifter' Warner was a bouncer at some of the toughest biker bars in L. A. County and it became his job to protect the rude foreigners from the very people with whom he normally associated. It would be the tour from Hell.
