New York's First FLYING SAUCER CONVENTION

The New York's First Flying Saucer Convention (1967), sponsored by the Congress of Scientific Ufologists, was held from June 23-25 at the Commodore Hotel, New York City with James Willett Moseley as Chairman. The conference presenter was Timothy Green Beckley, who introduced prominent ufologist as: Gordon Evans, Frank Stranges, Roy Thinnes (The Invaders), John A keel, Gray Barker, Richard Basile, and others. The main idea behind the Convention, like many similar meetings of that time, was to create a forum for UFO experience and saucer sightings for the purpose of the investigation of spacecraft, extra-terrestrial travel, and other subjects relating to these matters in order to encourage public support of projects in connection with these phenomena. Bessie J. Gibbs was the compiler in charge for the Congress. Ms. Gibbs recorded each lecture given by the guest speakers, and the question and answer session that followed.
