When AJ and Jordy, were both faced with the same case, they knew they were in trouble because of who their clients were. After AJ was confronted by her ex, she reached out to Sara, to help her work out how to keep from letting him use her, Jimmy had a way of using AJ any way that would benefit him most. Sara, being aware that AJ was in danger, called in the family to help. Not realizing that they would all be on another journey sifting through lies and deceit, as they tried to retrieve yet another of Merlin's artifacts. New evidence showed while they were trying to work out why AJ wasn't affected by the artifact, mainly, AJ was half fae. A secret her mother kept from her having bound her powers when she was a baby. When her parents reneged on a deal they made with a powerful fae, to use the artifact that would save her mother's life, it was AJ who would pay the penalty. Failing to return the artifact meant that AJ would be given as penance for not complying to the contract.
