"I believe the English would be leaving India soon. The tension is spreading across Europe. Forces are gathering against the shaky English Empire. India is becoming restless. Due to the enormous costs, the English cannot hold on to far-flung colonies forever. When the English leave, we'll plunge into turbulent times!" Sardarji stared at his father in complete disbelief at what appeared to be an insane prediction. Slavery had permeated every soul in the country. Obedience created by terror was too robust to allow a vision of freedom. The sun would never set on the English Empire!"What makes you so sure?" Sardarji shouted. His father was going nuts. Sardarji's father either didn't hear him or more likely ignored him and continued with his rant. "Hitler is a maniac, hungry for power. He resents the English because of their worldwide dominance. Power is the source of all control. Once their power evaporates, the control will go with it." His voice cracked with emotion. Sardarji listened in awe as his father analyzed the approaching world political scene of the early Nineteen Forties with uncanny precision, borne out by the catastrophic events that followed a few years later.
