One Simple Hug

What began as a single gesture, a simple goodbye hug as my six-year-old daughter left for school, altered our lives forever.
Not only did it open the door to a world we never wanted to enter, it raised doubts in us about so many things ... our faith in God, the medical profession, and even our role as parents.
This is a true story about what happened to my daughter, and how the events unraveled. As unbelievable and incredible as they may seem, they absolutely took place and my family bears the scars to this day.
But as horrific as this story is, it also holds a powerful truth ... one of grace and how I eventually faced my doubts and turned to God for the answers I so desperately sought.
