The widowed owner of a professional baseball team, Mrs. S. adopts the Little Prince, whose parents are no longer living. As a result of his deep-seated loneliness and pain, the Little Prince also develops concerning and volatile qualities. He learns to cope, but barely, and with no assurance for how long he can last.
