The Sandman

In the third book of the Adam Stone detective series, Adam and his partner, Marcus Williams, investigate the late-night murder of a Charleston doctor. Soon two other doctors are murdered, and the detectives find themselves embroiled in the middle of an international Chinese opioid smuggling operation. The case eventually leads to the discovery of a connection between the Chinese Triad and the Chicago mafia. The possibility of additional murders rise as word on the street hints that an old mysterious mafia hitman has arrived in Charleston. Adam and Marcus know that they will now come face to face with the legend of the one of the world's most deadly assassin--the Sandman.
