This book is written so that what happened to me won't happen to you. As you will read later in the book, my retirement planning and retirement funds took big hits in 1999 and in 2008. I didn't know that the programs and products explained in this book even existed. If only I had known!If you subject your retirement funds to market loss and you don't know when the market will take a turn for the worse (who does?), how do you know those funds will be there when you retire?You see, retirement is about income (and health). By the time you reach your late 60's or early 70's; should the market take a hit, you don't have the years left to ride it out. Your peak earning years are probably over. Besides waiting out the market is a very old investment plan. Times have changed and volatility seems to be the rule now. You can avoid that pitfall. You can protect your retirement funds and you can safely plan for and survive retirement.
