The provenance and authenticity of the age-old book identify it as an incredibly rare survival - a 'Black Legend', stolen five centuries earlier from the Vatican library, owned - and hidden - by Walter de Langton, a bishop of Lichfield who had stood trial for witchcraft around the year 1300 in Rome.




No one can envisage the approaching cataclysm: the collision of a demonic, stygian past with the presence of the prophet of Reason and the Nobility of untainted Mankind.
