This is a rollicking tale of a reluctant heroine, forced into a world where she encounters high drama and low scheming, and not least of all, the Gestapo. Simone wants to help the Allied cause but ends up biting necks in a variety of European venues. Her companions include an ancient and tormented vampire, searching through time to find the teacher who can show him the meaning of life, and a slightly less ancient vampire who claims friendship with Wordsworth, forged whilst busy helping out with the French Revolution.
