Solvents have a major role to play in the environmental and sustainability agenda, and many currently used solvents have to be replaced, either because of regulations or because of increasing demands for safer solvents and produce them in safer way. Emphasis is given in particular to cost-saving and more efficient replacements for more toxic solvents.
