Germaine Arnaktauyokis an Inuit artist and illustrator, best known for her prints and etchings depicting Inuit myths and traditional ways of life. In 2000, she designed the special edition two-dollar coin commemorating the inception of the territory of Nunavut. She lives in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories."
Contributor Bio: Arnaktauyok, Germaine Germaine Arnaktauyok is an Inuit artist who was born in lgloolik, Northwest Territories, in 1946. Germaine went to school in Chesterfield Inlet, NWT, and Churchill, Manitoba, before taking a fine arts course at the University of Manitoba with George Swinton. She has also studied at Algonquin College in Ottawa and completed a printmaking course at Arctic College in lqaluit.
