I'm in the Army Now

Reno Belmessieri, a shy and sheltered young man born of Italian immigrant parents, was thrust into World War II like so many thousands of others. Born and raised in San Francisco, California, Reno soon found himself in the Philippine jungles of Luzon, fighting for his life in the United States Army Infantry at the age of nineteen. Forced to grow up quickly, this is his story: a story of courage, a little defiance, and the will to make it back home again.
