As Berlin Evers drives home from her second shift job on a snowy night, she sees a man and two women arguing under a street light. After impulsively pulling over to investigate the situation, she's attacked by an unseen assailant, immobilized and abducted. She regains consciousness in the basement of a house of horrors, at the mercy of a family poisoned by years of abuse and depravity. She must use everything she has ever learned to survive and plan her escape. Detective Brian Malloy is called to the scene of the abduction and races against the clock to rescue Berlin. Reunited once again, Berlin and Brian try to help the only surviving daughter of this brutal family remember her upbringing, looking for clues that will lead to the capture of her murderous father. Of course, Brian and Berlin have very different ideas about how her assailant should be dealt with. Brian has the law on his side, while Berlin has none of his legal constraints. She is determined to balance the scales of justice one last time, even if she must sacrifice herself to do so.
