The Holy Spirit works on the inside of each of Jesus' disciples to help them grow to become like Jesus and glorify God. This is God's purpose in each person's salvation. The same Holy Spirit that lives in the former addict who now follows Jesus also lives in every other follower of Jesus. In this way God works through the people around us to help us walk with God and overcome sin. Those who have been given over to addiction in the past, but now have turned to Jesus, have a whole new support team. Every Christian needs other Christians in their lives. Effort is needed to be a functioning part of the church body and to benefit from the resources God has placed there. We must set aside our independent and rebellious attitudes and humbly respond to those God has place in our lives to help us. There are particular challenges faced by former addicts in this area. This volume focus on the resources available in fellow believers and the responsibility each Christian has to respond appropriately.
