The Razing of the Id / The Chrietzberg Chronicles

This is an accelerated autobiography of certain years of the author's life. The prologue tells the story of the author as he witnesses first-hand a girl being examined in a hospital. Was she raped? Was it a man or a Stighini? We find out later that the mystery does nothing but deepen. The author then is enticed to meet Jimmy, a quadriplegic boy bound to a hospital bed in a nursing home and they immediately become friends. The author tells Jimmy of his current adventures, which includes visiting haunted Indian cemeteries to try to verify if the legends are true or hoaxes. Meanwhile Jimmy tries to help the author recover from a recent breakup from a girlfriend. He gets the author to writing poems, stories and "Caricatures of Immortality" of people that have crossed his path in an attempt to focus his mind elsewhere. The loss of friendship and love is explored in the life of the author as he experienced them. The book is intended to show that love conquers all and that we must learn how to do it. Everyone goes through the process of life coming at us. What does not destroy us, makes us stronger. Love anyway. We can learn from life, third-handed experiences and we can learn from God. If we don't learn how, we will be destined to lose the self-respect we deserve. Life is hard. It doesn't have to be that way. Cling to God. Always. He will see you through. Love anyway, even when it seems everything is against you.
