Charles Haddon Spurgeon

Able to the Uttermost

Able to the Uttermost is a collection of twenty wonderful sermons originally published in 1922 from unpublished manuscripts of Charles Spurgeon. Here you can find the great preacher expounding on Christ's substitutionary atonement in his warm, evangelistic style. Many of these unique sermons present the salvation experience using a mirror style, contrasting the old and the new, sorrow and joy, gloom and glory. One feature of these sermons is the strong Reformed view of salvation, uplifting the Person and the cross of Christ in the context of a sovereign plan of salvation, made by a sovereign God, put in place sovereignly by the regenerating power of the Holy Spirit, and accomplished to the uttermost by His sanctifying work to the glory of God alone. This book has been originally published in 1922. Current edition has been proofread, typeset for eBook readers, and slightly updated for modern readers. About the author: Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-1892) was born in Kelvedon, Essex, England. He converted to Christianity in 1850 at a small Methodist chapel, and shortly after that he began his own ministry of preaching and teaching, and preached more than 500 sermons by the age of 20. During his ministry, he preached to more than 10 million people, wrote tens of books, and published his sermons in over 25,000 copies on a weekly basis. Charles Spurgeon suffered from poor health and he died on January 31, 1892, and was buried in London.
