Pacification

In an age where every aspect of life is relentlessly pursued by culture, our enemy, and our selfish desires, it is easy to pacify-or disengage from-the growing processes we need to go through in order to realize and become our true identity in Christ. Our enemy would rather us turn a blind eye to the exchange that needs to happen between the lies we believe about ourselves, and God's truth. Our flesh would rather we stay unaltered by God's healing touch, grace, love, and mercy, and be dictated by our sinful nature. It takes less effort to go with the flow, but God's strength to go against it. Pacification feeds us misconceptions that will make us believe that the flow of society, and the old, mundane routines we've lived in are the ways we ought to live. Pacification will appease us further into culture habits and idiosyncrasies, and define us by our past experiences and hurts; it will make us lose ourselves entirely.
