Katie is a sharp young Charleston attorney who lives with Jax, a man who bends the laws to do his job. Katie's sexual preferences and her attitude toward her own sexuality are unique and, as Jax learns, a little confusing. Bonnie is her best friend and can't seem to stay out of Katie's relationships which puts their friendship on the line. Facing the choice of her best friend or her lover, Katie sees only one option to make it all work. Jax is an insurance investigator, one that the companies he works for call on when they want assets found and retrieved. His past and his ties to the Mafia test the limits of Katie's resolve but she isn't giving up easily. Especially when a woman who could pass as her twin begins stalking Jax and taking credit for the recent string of burglaries that Jax has been hired to solve. Bonnie, who was a transfer student from Sweden, lives in Katie's shadow and can never seem to keep from coming between Katie and her men. She and Jax keep their trysts clandestine as well as they can, but Katie knows what is happening behind her back. But Jax has burglaries to solve, the Mafia to appease and two women to keep happy while he tries to discover the identity of Katie's doppelganger. He also has a judge to contend with, one that has his eye on Katie, and not in a friendly way. Can they keep it all together or will the events of three lives coming together be too much for them to deal with?
