The Adventures of the Raccoon Little Button
Bantu Eli
"Knowledge is the magic dust of books" says Buttons. Exactly! It is about an adventure, an initiation journey where the main characters, with lots of imagination, learn about life: civilizations, art, sports, traditions, science, but the way in which the information is offered is singular than the traditional one. Hence the difference from other adventure novels. Thus, the raccoon, Buttons, is a friend who shares these "notions, experiences", but in a completely different way. "The experiences" are dressed in an avalanche of happenings that attract the reader by uniqueness and humor. The events related by Buttons take place in reality, in the respective locations, with a particular periodicity. There are reached civilizations and cultures that attract by diversity and even by uniqueness; there are brought in the foreground notions that everyone should know (child or adult) as a basic general knowledge and, in the same time, notions that, if possessed, become the centre of attention of the others. We find out information about very diverse fields: geography (the entire map the main character and his friends travel on), history (American, Amerindian, Greek, Japanese, and Scottish civilizations; we learn things about the Templar Knights, about the Moors, the Byzantine Empire, etc.), sports ( golf, rugby, hockey, American football, wrestling, sailing and aviation, martial arts, chess), art and science (jazz, rock, classical music, Byzantine music - theater, films, literature, and Nobel), dialects and foreign languages (the dialect of the Yakama Indians, the Welsh dialect, Greek language, Spanish, elements of Japanese traditions, and of course, English, and the sign language), various animals and birds, human behavior, unusual phenomena. "Easy! And all you have to do is ask..." says Andy.
