The sweetness, the peaceful gift of early morning cool,
in summer, comes to me often out images
and thought brought in yesterday's visitations,
A closeness to good, the distance to
strife, the pace of the sure and purposed -
these fill my being in such moments.
Let none, or I in myself, weep over the bittersweetness
of standing, mortal.
