LETTERS FROM A FRENCH FARMHOUSE is a mother-daughter memoir, a chronical of the author's self-exile to a rural French hamlet from her job as a national magazine editor - through letters exchanged with her country Australian mother, who adds recollections from her early farming life. It moves beyond the usual expat hedonism through raising a child from birth to Baccalauréat and is also the universal story of a loving parent-child relationship sustained and enriched through years of separation.
