Because the 33 sketches in this book are made from photographs, they retain some shading and texture. The shading comes through when you use colored pencils, so you can just apply color, or add more shading if you're in the mood. Ideal for low-tech "de-stressing," with a beautiful result from a variety of skill levels, it is an enchanting coloring experience for children and adults alike. Our recommendation is for ages 8 and up, but we have found detail-oriented 6 and 7-year-olds enjoying this book when they thought no one was looking. A bilingual French-English edition will follow, also in black and white, and there is also a Collectors' Color edition which has color illustrations in addition to the sketches.
