The High Way

Marcos is a young man growing up in a small town in Scotland. An outsider by nature, he grows increasingly dissatisfied with the status quo of society, and increasingly drawn to the life of his hippie friends. Driven by the visionary experiences catalysed by magic mushrooms, LSD and cannabis he sets out on an incredible journey of self-discovery and exploration of non-ordinary reality. He meets an old family friend who turns out to be a Taoist sage and takes up the practices of Tai Chi and Meditation. At the same time, his penchant for weird experiences lead him into strange worlds of sorcery where he encounters spirits and demons vying for his soul. A cataclysmic episode on the streets of Edinburgh lead to a psychotic breakdown and hospitalisation. He emerges from the episode, a fascinated psychonaut and practitioner on a Quest for the Spirit.
