Beauty Queen, Senior high school student, and seer of spirits, Sophie has mixed feelings about being in a new town, new school and around new people, especially when she falls in with the beautiful boys who follow Derek. First, her best friend's spirit appears to her in a pageant, then she is out in a garden communing with the ghost of Derek's ex, and then the bottom falls out of the world as Sophie discovers that there is much more to the world than she ever thought: elves are real, dragons are not just a dream, and her father is not who she ever imagined he might be.
