A puppet named Mindy Peppermint interviews her puppet and human friends. EXCERPT FROM CHAPTER TWO: MINDY INTERVIEWS SUMMER NEWBOLD "MINDY Summer, it doesn't matter how you look because nobody can see you! Anyway, tell us what you look like and how old you are, and stuff like that. SUMMER Can I start over? Cuz you didn't say this was the interview! MINDY [Sighs] Go ahead! SUMMER Okay, I'm Summer Newbold. I'm six. My mom is a rich lady named Fox Newbold. She writes books an' makes movies an' stuff. I'm 'dopted. I don't have a dad. I'm a very cute girl with long, blond hair and big, blue eyes. People always say "Isn't she cute?" an' "How 'dorable!" when they see me, an' cuz of being blond, I can do anything I want! MINDY What are your favorite things? SUMMER I love animals, like cats an' dogs, an' flowers, an' my cousin Rainy 'cuz she's a Magic Pixie, an' I love Nana Melon, an' chicken! MINDY What stuff do you hate? SUMMER I hate liver, broccoli, eggplant, bugs, and yellow. MINDY You hate everything yellow? SUMMER No. I hate yellow clothes. MINDY You hate everybody's yellow clothes, or just yours? SUMMER I hated all my yellow clothes so much that I gave them to Tasha! MINDY Why do you hate to wear yellow clothes? SUMMER I hate it because it's the color of my hair. MINDY You hate the color of your hair? SUMMER No! Granny Newbold loves my blond hair and she thinks I look pretty in yellow, so she buys clothes for me that match my hair. She always gives me tons of yellow clothes and I'm sick of them! And Mom says it would be mean to tell Granny Newbold I hate yellow clothes! MINDY Ohhh, I see! SUMMER So I give them all to Tasha. MINDY Why do you give them to Tasha? SUMMER 'Cuz she loves yellow an' she's poor. Mom says you should give stuff to poor people."
