Once-reverend Basil
"Get Inside God's Head" tells how to activate the pre-installed personal spiritual GPS God gave us at all at birth. Activation, the book says, consists of learning and using the Common-sense-as-spiritual-GPS Principle.
The author of the book, a former Eastern Orthodox Christian priest using the pen name Once-Reverend Basil, recounts the 50-year spiritual odyssey that led to his discovery of the principle. The odyssey culminated in a dramatic spiritual Aha moment, followed by a Eureka moment, which awakened the then-clergyman from a state of "spiritual zombee-ism" under whose spell he had been living since his formative years as a Roman Catholic. His religious faith, like that of most believers, had forbidden him to use common sense when it came to spiritual matters.
His spiritual Aha convinced him God wouldn't have given him the inborn gift of common sense and then not expected him to use it for everything, spiritual matters included. Once free to do that, he realized that his half-century search for the perfect church had been in vain--that he could trust no one but himself and his God-given gifts, comprising a very real sixth sense, for accurate direction along the spiritual path God wanted him to follow. The process he discovered for using his inborn gifts resulted in formulation of the Common-sense-as-spiritual-GPS Principle.
Validating the principle inspired the now Once-Reverend Basil to make a personal Declaration of Spiritual Independence. It begins: "My spiritual trust, I place only In God, my Father Almighty, the maker of all things, visible and invisible; and in the true and real sixth sense He instilled in me at birth to provide certain spiritual direction . . . "
The book reveals a simple easy-to-use process for applying the Common-sense-as-spiritual-GPS Principle to answer everyday spiritual questions and resolve moral/ethical dilemmas. In the process, it illustrates how difficult it was for Basil to escape the narrow, tunnel-vision mindset of organized religion and begin making personal spiritual decisions he is certain have God's stamp of approval.
