In the sequel to The Book And The Rose, it's been several months since Hollywood screenwriter Evans McCoy gave up his life in Los Angeles to move in with his lover, Mio, a retired gay porn star and former high-class rent boy who lives in Barcelona. Their relationship is blossoming, Evans is taking Spanish classes, and is settling in with gusto. Now, he feels love he has never had-not just from Mio, but from the man's entire family. In the back of his mind, however, Evans worries that Mio will tire of him and miss his old life...he frets that he will wind up back in L. A. with a loveless existence and a dysfunctional family that doesn't talk and never, ever eats such lavish home-cooked meals like Mama makes. Sensing his lover's restlessness, Mio fears he doesn't do enough to assure Evans of his commitment. He decides that Evans needs to forget Mio's past once and for all. Since Evans never got to experience the excitement of Mio's hooker world as a client, Mio suggests a sexy trip for two, where he will treat his partner to a decadent, forbidden, roleplaying liaison. He is happy to be Evans's call boy forever, but Evans must go along with everything Mio presents to him.
