And now, behold, I say unto you, that ye ought to search these things. Yea, a commandment I give unto you that ye search these things diligently; for great are the words of Isaiah. (3 Nephi 23:1);; We live in an exciting time in the history of this world. Isaiah's admonitions and wisdom are relevant and applicable to us. The Lord has commanded us to study his words and has prophesied that their fulfillment will be in a day when the covenant God made with the house of Israel will be fulfilled.;; Isaiah wrote and taught using the gift of prophecy to benefit all those who have a "heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear" (Deut. 29:4). With the impending destruction of his own nation on the horizon, he was inspired to see our day and write about it.
