Running away from home in the summer of '69, David plunges into a psychedelic explosion of light, color, drugs and rock and roll music as he begins a journey of three decades. He's seen the images on TV of hippies in San Francisco enjoying, rock music, sexual freedom and drugs. David gets caught with drugs, and he makes a decision that will affect his life forever. Heading west, he crosses the country in a hippie-bus full of other kids. Falling in love with Maggie, they attend the Woodstock concert in New York. David and friends have an accident that causes them trouble with the law. They must hide from the law out by going underground. David decides that the 'hippie lifestyle' is not as glamorous as he thought. David and Maggie are separated from the group and they both want to find each other, but are unable to reunite due to the fact that they are still on the run from the law. Will they be reunited, or has time and distance separated them forever?
