Blazer High School and then earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kentucky. He has spent most of his professional career as a Project Manager and Engineering Consultant to AK Steel in Ashland. He is also a freelance writer, contributing many articles and editorials to The Christian Perspective, a quarterly journal on contemporary issues. Jim is also an award-winning songwriter and portrait artist, and the owner of Anderson Art Studios. He continues to live with his family in Ashland. He is married to the former Catherine Ann Thompson and they have two sons, Matthew (Jamie) and David, and one grandson, John Carter.
