Warren and Patti have been active in coaching, running clinics, seminars and publications since the late 1970s. Both are certified coaches with the Road Runners' Club of America. Patti and Warren developed and managed certification classes for the RRCA where they certified over 2000 running coaches. Patti, an exercise physiologist and corporate fitness consultant, has used running to overcome chronic asthma. She has run over 85 marathons winning one women's title, placing in the top three in several others and winning many age group awards. She is an active ultrarunner completing over 85 and has held U. S. age records at 50 kilometers and 50 miles. Warren, a nationally ranked masters runner, has completed over 85 marathons winning three overall and eight masters titles. He placed third in the 1982 TAC US Masters Marathon Championship and was second veteran in the 1992 Boston Marathon. He is best known however, as an ultramarathoner having completed more than 85 races between 50 kilometers and 100 miles, winning 20 of them. He has twice held the U. S. open track record for 100 kilometers.
