Calypso Through The Heliopause continues The Gravida 2 Saga's story of seven hundred women, now of ages 24 thru 33, almost 1400 of their daughters, and only one old infertile man, Jon, in the huge spaceship Calypso bound to try to establish humanity's first colony about another star. They are six years past Jupiter, sent on their way by ML, the woman who conceived and funded the expedition. Jon was selected by the women to be a father figure for their daughters. He and his wife, Marie, were recruited from Earth by ML. Jon was instructed by a bot that it was time for him to read the message ML left for him. When he read it, he received an assignment which he accepted. He was to bestow an enhancement upon one of the women. He wanted to do what ML assigned, but his wife had been the one who knew people, and she was no longer alive to help him figure this out. A secondary story of The Gravida 2 Saga is Calypso's effort to keep up with Earth's technological development. To this end, they have been receiving database updates of the progress Earth shares with Mars, the Moon, and the Developments in the asteroid belt beyond Mars. Somehow these updates stopped. The women suspect that ML's adversary caused that. So they are now trying to develop their own technology instead of just implementing what they got in the updates. The women maintain a fleet of staffed and robotic-AI scout spaceships around Calypso searching for hard-to-detect, cold, dark objects which might endanger their vessel as it speeds up. Calypso's navigators are vigilant to try to avoid the dangers of unforeseen encounters with any planets and protoplanets that were long ago ejected from the Solar System. Jon comes to believe that what people view as their flaws are sometimes the very attributes which qualify them for their most important roles in life.
