After clearing Jon's name and stopping the attempts on her life, Annie Pederson would love some time to just process. Jon was her first love, and now-finally-he's committed to returning to Rock Harbor and to her. But they've both changed in the intervening years. Is this the right thing? And how can she tell Kylie that Jon is her father when Kylie is so disdainful of him?

But with running the marina and her job as a park ranger, time is a luxury Annie never seems to have. All hands are on deck searching for a missing woman in the woods, and Annie stumbles upon a young hiker seemingly on the run from two hunters. This is the second time Annie has rescued someone who felt hunted. Is it more than a coincidence?

Then Jon learns that one of his former partners has been accused of malpractice, sending his plan to join a new orthopedic practice in the area awry. Jon and Annie's second chance may be over before it even starts.
