Mysterious Grace

St Teresa of Avila observed that, "our faculties seem to be making war upon us," and G. I. Gurdjieff described us as being unconscious machines. If the Bhagavad Gita is right and our body is a battlefield, how can we free ourselves from this constant turmoil? It would seem that we aren't taught the most important thing of all: how to be happy inside our own skin. Most of us don't realize the fact that there are two entities within us, one being the false self and the other being the higher self, and they are constantly at war. The sad part is that we not only fail to realize that there is a war, but we are fully identified with the false entity within us, which further enslaves us every day.
