Garth Jennings returns to direct this animated musical sequel with an all-star voice cast including Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon and Scarlett Johansson. Following on from the events of the first film, Buster Moon (voice of McConaughey) is happy and thriving at his new theatre. Reuniting with the old gang, they travel to the city to audition for entertainment mogul Jimmy Crystal (Bobby Cannavale).

Unimpressed with their audition, Gunter (Nick Kroll) panics and promises Jimmy former rocker Clay Calloway (Bono) and Jimmy is convinced. There is just one problem - nobody has seen Clay Calloway in 15 years... Can the team band together to put on the show?
