There's no clear understanding on feeling depressed. There's no clear teachings on sex. They're taught to live in a black and white world with little to no gray areas. Do they want to continue this cycle? Are they tired of these narratives? Is it time to unlearn what's been taught? "the miseducation of the sad black men" explores the parallels of two black boys navigating through their experiences of vulnerability, insecurity, and healing. It's an entire novel written in verses.
