A Test Drive to Chicago and other Trips and Tales

"I turned around and looked out the back window. The familiar blue and red lights were flashing. I hoped and prayed that they pulled us over for some minor violation and somehow the fact that this car was stolen would somehow go unnoticed.

I was greatly disappointed when they opened Justin's car door and asked him to step out... There it was, we've been caught. Just like that and it was over. So suddenly our new lives had come to a halting end and all that driving for absolutely nothing."



So ended one of the first of many trips undertaken by the author. A native of Ohio, David Suvak was able to experience many more exciting trips as he crisscrossed the country, moving from one job to another as a seasonal park ranger. Although these later endeavors were under much more legal circumstances, the experiences were nonetheless dramatic, humorous, and educational.
