Supporting Autonomy

Supporting Autonomy is a unique resource is in that it provides instruction for the autistic person and those supporting them. The resources contained within can be used across any environment or situation, to provide predictability and structure, thereby lessening any anxiety felt and in turn, supporting both sensory and emotional regulation. This programme flips the narrative on the traditional idea of changing the child to suit the environment by instead providing the tools to modify said environment. Sharon McCarthy is a parent in an autism and additional needs household for more than 20 years and in recent times has acquired a number of academic and professional autism specific qualifications. Supporting Autonomy is the culmination of many years of work and Sharon's wealth of practical experience. This programme contains more than 60 visual boards and almost 700 interchangeable visual tools.
